Sample Drum Synth

hello (again),

After working some time with the Minidrumplayer, i found out, that's not enough !
I started to design a new version with more voices and a couple of synthesis features,
filters and LFO's for example. And now after some time of experimenting it's finished.

The SDS

First the bad news :

And now the good ones :

Features (per voice):

I have tested the SDS with the following Configuration :

The timing worked very fine. I've played 1/32th with raising tempo up to 180 Bpm. The result was as i had
expected. It morphed from a very stable rhythm to some kind of granular sound.
Also complete rhythm lines ( 6 voices used ) are very tight. So i hope you will have no problems to produce
a lot of cool killerloops ( Maybe you send me some MP3's or better a download-adress )

Many thanks to Joachim Soppe for testing and giving helpful hints.

Warning

To protect your speakers don't touch any on/off Switches while playing the sounds.
There may be some awful noises. Also don't use full resonance. The best way to kill
your boxes would be to raise resonance to full level, the same with saturation and just
playing a single sound ! Please test it first with lowered loudness !

The author will not take any response for any defects based on the usage of this device !

Mini Drumplayer x8

For new projects better use the SDS (If you already have Pulsar Version 1.2).
More voices, lower DSP usage, tighter timing, synthesis features.

Here is my first Pulsar-/Scopedevice, the Minidrumplayer.

The Minidrumplayer can load up to 8 samples ( WAV or AKAI ), and assign them each to a unique notenumber.
Every sample has it's own output.

01.06.1999

Possible adjustments for each sample are : then notenumber, the tuning (+/- 48 semitones ) and the attack and decay
of the amp envelope. sustain is always zero. Release is allways equal to decay.

Here is the download : MDP_8_VD.zip

IMPORTANT : You can't load stereo WAV's. After this the drumplayer doesn't work any more !

Have fun,

Volker (vd-openbin@gmx.de)
