The proposed company wishes to
set up headquarters in München, Germany. It shall grow with demand allowing
us to hire Germans and find partners to help with the running of the company
at this end and on Zanzibar Island.
The company shall initially be
made up of one person. Share holders are invited to join.
As demand grows the company shall
be willing to take on partners to run jointly the whole business and we
expect to be one of the leading tour companies taking tourists from Europe
to Zanzibar and Tanzania, including hoteliers and eventually air charter
operators to the region. We expect that within three years to reach early
targets and within five years to reach final targets.
The project will create about 5
new jobs for Germans in the near future.
MARKETING &
MARKETING CHANNELS.
The market itself are people.
Already marketing through friends has begun and interest has been shown from
all quarters with bookings confirmed by customers for later this year. This
is an on going campaign with new contacts being made weekly.
It is foreseen that some
promotional expenses shall be incurred initially to launch the whole
project. In the future the package shall be marketed by international agents
worldwide. Sales and promotional agents shall be appointed as this would
provide access to a much larger market. The media in the form of newspapers,
magazines and radio would be used to promote the package including
advertisement through the Web, flyers and posters. Special meetings of
groups at functions and festivals such as at the Gothe Institute, Africa
House, Muffethalle, Tollwood e.t.c., would be targeted for promotional
events as this would get us easily into touch personally with customers with
an interest on Africa.
Public relation on a personal
level shall be practised as a permanent activity, good competitive pricing,
quality and services being the priorities.
We wish to target a middle class
clientele, with special interest on the adventure and fitness side of
things. Sports such as cycling, fishing, walking, swimming, diving, water
sports would be offered, with sponsors contacted to set up competitions in
all the various fields from mini-marathons to treasure hunts. Live
television coverage of events would be encouraged to be beamed to
international audiences. Once the tour operation is running smoothly we
would offer tours which would also cover the mainland of Tanzania with
Mt.Kilimanjaro and the numerous wild life parks. Zanzibar would be the final
destination to wind down after exploring the mainland.
In the future a recording studio
could be set up for artists to come and record, holiday, shoot videos, and
perform.Travellers would come to Zanzibar for holidays and see their
favourite artists performing at the Botanic Resort-( see attached project
brochure).
The Low Season starts from
Janaury to June and the High Season from June to December.
This is so as from January it is
the hottest period followed by the rainy season, and from June the coolest
season starts encouraging guests to visit the Islands during this time.
The seasonal changes should not
effect the operation to badly as far as we are concerned as during the Low
Season special reduced packages could be offered as air-lines and hotels
always have special prices during this time. We would actually target this
period to be extra busy when the Island is not to crowded and bookings are
easily available.
There is only a handful of
companies offering services to Zanzibar from Germany. They are either very
expensive, whilst we plan to offer a package which costs less then theirs
with more days and nights and with extra services such as full board and
tours included.
The cheaper end of the market one
can forget, they are sub-standard as most clientele would go with no
breakfast and have to put up in very basic accomodation.
The competion has the advantage
of having been in the business for numerous years but have to offer their
services through a third or more parties and have no real understanding of
the Island and are in the business simply to make a quick buck. They are
offering mass tourism services in an already saturated market and a large
section of the public is tired of these services.
We have the advantage of being a
small company offering something new on the market which no one is offering
yet and is what a large section of the public is looking for, a genuine
tour package with real atmosphere. We plan to offer tailor-made small group
packages to the public which are not available on the market and of being
flexible by offering almost 100% services through our own facilities with no
middle man involved.
As with quite a number of African
countries, Tanzania/Zanzibar has had its ups and downs moving into
democratic politics. Tanzania has been one of the few stable states on the
continent and the small unrests reported from time to time are nothing
compared to other countries through out the world. Countries such as South
Africa, Morroco, Kenya, Seycelles too mention a few have gone through much
worse troubles but always survived as tourism is the main income to these
governments.
This does not effect the
established tour operators as their tourists are on their resorts and safe
and have nothing to do with politics and do not even notice anything. In
Zanzibar unrests have occurred but this has not had any effect on the
tourist .Being physically on the Island as a tourist one does not notice a
thing.
All flights and hotel rooms are
over booked during the season starting from June to January and tourists
have been known known to sleep outside.
